ST IVES: SI PAVILIONS HOUSE
The SI Pavilions house is a home for a growing family located in Northern suburbs of Sydney. It focuses on creating a home that is connected to the landscape and nature
The design addresses the steep site and amazing outlook with a series of pavilions stepping down the site.
The pavilion strategy maximises appreciation of the view from almost all spaces but also provides daylight access, passive ventilation, connection between inside / outside, a sense of spaces surrounded by landscape, control of climate specific to use and defines clear uses of space based around daytime and nighttime activities.
The pavilions consist of simple elegant forms with roof shapes accentuating the relationship between the spaces, the Garigal National park mountain/ valley and the sky
The palette is refined anchoring the home to the site with stone, concrete and timber
